Our Story

Here at The Kettle Gourmet, we are committed to offering our own unique spin on traditional popcorn, one that is both flavourful and healthy. While innovation is at the core of our business, we respect and value tradition; hence, in homage to our inspiration Charles Cretors, who built the world's first popcorn machine, we strive to recreate the impact he had on the snack and retain the passion he had for the snack.

Today, The Kettle Gourmet is reputed for our innovative flavours, consistent quality, signature aromas and a refined taste that will satisfy even the pickiest eater.

So, it begins…

The Kettle Gourmet is a business born out of a singular passion – creating great-tasting fresh popcorn.

However, running a popcorn business was never on our minds when we first started experimenting for fun out of a humble backroom kitchen in 2016. We were disillusioned with the limited flavours available in stores and attempted to make our own; sharing our inventions with friends and family.

Our factory made and packed popcorn sitting in our back kitchen where we used to experiment flavours. (2019)

Our creations were a hit and received rave reviews, along with multiple order requests. What started out as a hobby soon evolved into a full-fledged business.

Fuelled by the drive to redefine popcorn, we proceeded to develop an exquisite menu of flavours. After months of rigorous testing and fine-tuning, The Kettle Gourmet hit the market in July 2017 with our unique interpretation of popcorn.

About our founder

After building a sizeable portfolio from investments and trading during his university days, Zac Chua, 27, challenged himself to go a step further – starting his own company. Upon graduating with a degree in Business Management from Singapore Management University, Zac put his career plans on hold and dedicated himself full-time to transforming his passion for popcorn into a business. In July 2017, The Kettle Gourmet was born.
